Farewell

Camp Keswick

We were at Rotorua at Keswick because we were doing Camp for 3 Days. I was excited to go to Camp. At Keswick it was cool because we had great times there. The Boys slept at the Lodge and The girls slept in rooms. It was a long drive from Auckland To Rotorua.

My boring part of camp was going to the Bushwalk. It was so long we had to walk up and down, I was so tired. But I kept on walking and then at the end it was so tiring. And It wasn't fun at all. I wanted some water because I had a dryed throat and it was so hot.

My favourite part of Camp is the Luge because we were driving in these car and racing down the hills and turning. It was actually my first time in the Luge. It was Amazing at Camp and I wanted to do it again. I went in the Luge twice.

Net-Book Reflection

The Special thing I have Learned from my teacher this year is how to use a netbook and how to look after a net-book. The other special thing I have learnt for my teacher this year is to put my writing and other staff on my blog for the first time to show the whole world what I have learnt at Pt England School.

The Significant thing I have learnt all by myself online is using Google because it sometimes help me to find answers and finding what's going on around the world. The other significant thing I have done by myself is to use Google Drive for writing stories instead of writing on paper and Pencil.

The thing I have learnt this year from my friend is how to be friendly to others and to find about new staff. My other thing I have learnt this year with my friend is how to find answers and question in Kiwi Kids News.

My First Day At School

I had butterflies fluttering in my stomach my head started to dropped and my shoulders downswing, facing down my head and walking slowly towards the door. Then I had tears rolling down from my face. Then I saw the teacher smiling at me as I was standing still like a statue. When my brave head was raising above my shoulders, I felt like it is going to be the same as I was at kindergarten. I tried to smile to the class as I was raising my head to the classroom.

Writing Sample

When Matt was sitting on my chair by himself in his office, he heard someone whispering behind his back. He then looked at the back of him and Matt thought, it was a someone going pass as he looked sweaty. Matt then looked back on his computer, typing as fast as he can so he doesn't have to stay in his office hear someone whispering behind his back.

The whispered wanted make me to look at the back, but I was still typing. So he thought to himself should, don’t worry just keep on typing. But he couldn't handle it, so Matt looked at the back of him thinking to himself, just calm down and type.

His palm was so sweaty and he was still typing. He was scared because Matt heard that the whispered continued behind his back. Then he stopped typing and turned his whole around to the door and the whisperer had stopped. He think it was people going pass along the hallway whispering when they were going past me.

Then I Heard the whisper again and it was coming closer to me as I was typing faster and faster. Matt then suddenly looked behind him so fast that he was afraid of whispering behind his back, then the light was swinging and he saw shadow man from the floor as it disappear and appear because the light was swinging. The shadow man's mouth was moving and thought it was him, that whispered behind me as I was typing. He then closed his eyes and think it will be alright, AND THEN, He had woken up from bed and thought it was real but Matt was thinking to himself take a big deep breath when it was just a dream after all.

My Son Is Naughty

smart thinkers from Team 5 PES on Vimeo.

Jack and Ray were at the rugby. Ray’s team was winning
so Jack decided to give Ray a problem to deflate his ego a
bit. So Jack said “Did you know that today is my three
sons’ birthday?” “How old are they?” Ray asked taking
the bite. “I’ll give you a hint. The product of their ages is
36 and the sum of their ages is 13,” Jack replied. “That’s
no help,” said Ray. So Jack weakened and gave him
another clue. “O.K. My youngest son is very naughty.”
“Nothing to it,” exclaimed Ray and he told Jack the
correct ages of his sons.

The Rock Pool

Untitled from Team 5 PES on Vimeo.
Some octopuses, some fish and a few
mermaids were happily frolicking in a rock
pool. Altogether there were 38 arms, 24 eyes
and 8 tails all swimming in the pool.
How many mermaids were there?

We were given a task to find how many of each creatures there were from the question we had to answer. Mermaids, Octopus and Fishes were having fun in the rock pool. So there were 38 arms, 24 eyes and 8 tails.  We first started by using the easiest body part which were the eyes. We had to answer the question of how many Mermaids that were in the rock pool.  Each creature had 2 eyes so we divided 24 by 2 which was 12 so we now know that there were 12 creatures all together. Next we started which the tails. There were 8 tails and 2 of the creatures which were mermaids and fish with them. Now we know that there are only 8 creatures with tails and obviously octopuses don’t have tails so there is 4 Octopuses because there were 4 left from the 12. But to make us sure that there were 4 Octopuses, we next used the arms as part of our second body part. Octopus have 8 arms so we used 8 (Octopuses) times 4 which was 32 and 38-32 equal 6. Fish don’t have arms and of course Mermaid’s do so we divided 6 by 2 which was 3. So far we’ve got 4 Octopus and 3 Mermaids which also answers the question of how many Mermaids there were. Still, we’ve got 5 more tails which is for the fishes because three of the tails have been subtracted and used for the Mermaid. 3 Mermaids and 5 more tails meaning there were 5 fishes.
So 5 (fishes) + 3 (mermaids) + 4 (Octopus) = 12

Restaurant Question

Max Pizza from Team 5 PES on Vimeo.
The Pizza Place in my town has three
tables of the same size. The Chicken
N Chips restaurant has four of the
same sort of table.
The Chicken N Chips can just seat 24
people. How many people can The
Pizza Place seat?
Now a third of the seats at The Chicken N Chips were
empty and a half of the places at The Pizza Place were
empty. If 18 more people wanted to eat out, how many
would have to be turned away from the two restaurants?
